Mr. Weissing’s legal practice has focused on consumer protection as well as Personal Injury and Wrongful Death matters. Specifically, his practice concentrates in seeking compensation for clients from Motor Vehicle Accidents, Construction Site and Premises Accidents, Dog Bites/Injuries by Animals and Boating/Cruise Accidents. Mr. Weissing’s experience also includes handling cases involving motorcycle, automobile, boating/scuba diving and helicopter crashes. He also handles cases involving toxic chemical exposure and mis-filled prescriptions, as well as Negligent Security /Premises Liability civil actions arising out of shootings; Sexual Abuse cases; and complicated schemes to defraud;.failure to provide security and excessive force/false arrest. Additionally, he has represented those involved in disputes with insurance companies.
Mr. Weissing is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney, the highest designation of competence by the Florida Bar. Additionally, his Trial Lawyer peers have elected him to the American Board of Trial Advocates, and he was recognized in The National Trial Lawyers “Top 100”. He has also served as President of the Broward County Trial Lawyers.

He was also recognized in the Daily Business Review Top Florida Verdicts & Settlements in 2010 and 2011 for separate large jury verdicts. Mr. Weissing is also a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mr. Weissing is a member of The Florida Bar, Trial Lawyer’s Section; Broward County Bar Association member since 1986; American Association for Justice’s Leaders Forum; Broward County Trial Lawyer’s Association, serving in several officer positions and becoming President in 1999; and the Florida Justice Association. Mr. Weissing volunteers extensively in his community and wherever needs arise both locally and internationally. Mr. Weissing is currently very involved with his church. Mr. Weissing had previously served as Chairman of Trustees at his church.
Mr. Weissing is a member of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, including the Trial Bar of both Courts. Mr. Weissing has appeared and argued before Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Florida Supreme Court.
Mr. Weissing enjoys deep legal roots. In 1954, Matt’s father, Louis Weissing moved to Ft. Lauderdale from Tampa. First serving in the State Attorney’s Office, Louis Weissing ran and was elected Judge in 1956. Matt grew up in a home where he constantly heard discussions about the legal issues his father decided. His father served first in the Court of Record and then as a Circuit Court Judge, and finally as the Chief Judge of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit culminating his 31 year Judicial career. Because of his deep legal roots, Mr. Weissing is dedicated to serving his client’s needs and pursuing justice for those who entrust their legal matters to his care.
Mr. Weissing is a lifelong resident of Broward County, graduating from Nova High School. Following his service in the United States Marine Corps where he was awarded four Meritorious Promotions in just 14 months, followed by a Meritorious Mast, Matt completed his education at the University of Florida in only two years and nine months and then received his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University Law School.
